Personal pet peeves in horror movies and stuff:

Blood staying red when clearly enough time has passed for it dry. We all know blood becomes browner as it dries. Unless they’re drenched in sweet or in the rai, chances are that blood isn’t going to stay ruby red and fresh for very long.

Corpses being limp, and chopped off limbs being stiff. I’m thinking this is one of those unwritten rules of film, like, “Cows don’t look cows on film, you gotta use horses” on the Simpsons, but it annoys me no end. Limbs are essentially meat. Rigor Mortis doesn’t affect them. I think it’s got something to do with the blood drying, and blood vessels or something, I could look it up but fuck it, I’m mid-rant.

Along with the bodies/limb thing, is decapitated heads having a pained expression or clenched face. Comic book artists are guilty of this too. I’ve seen photos of real decapitated heads. The muscles in the face relax and they look like they’re asleep, while being burried up to their neck. I’m sick of seeing heads looking like they’re taking a shit.

EDIT: Ok, Rigor mortis has nothing to do with blood. It’s about oxygen and calcium and a bunch of other complicated shit. It would affect limbs, I guess.
